McKenzie Palmer is a Licensed Professional Counselor who graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s of science in Psychology. Later, she obtained her master’s degree in professional counseling from the University of Houston. McKenzie primarily works with children and adolescents, ages 3-18, by using a collaborative approach. She believes in implementing strategies and skills to meet clients where they are developmentally as well as emotionally. McKenzie enjoys working with children and their families to aid them in recognizing their own strengths as well as identifying growth areas to promote positive change. McKenzie’s training areas include experience with ADHD, anxiety, depression, social skills, divorce, parenting, adoption-related concerns and autism spectrum disorder amongst others. She incorporates play therapy, art therapy and age-appropriate cognitive behavioral therapy throughout sessions as needed to engage clients and best guide them to success.
