Clarissa Almaguer, Counseling Intern

Clarissa Almaguer earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Texas State University and is currently working towards her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston/ Clear Lake. A native Houstonian, her passion for helping others and providing trauma-informed care has provided her the drive to create safe places for others to heal and grow.

With an array of mental health and social work experiences, Clarissa has worked for several domestic violence shelters in and around Houston, providing mental health support as well as case management. She has also worked alongside the behavioral health team at Shriners Children’s Hospital in Galveston, TX. Clarissa is currently providing therapeutic services for NFCC, St. Mark’s Episcopal School and Tony’s Place. Clarissa has experience working closely with children and adolescents but enjoys working with individuals of all ages.
