Kathryn Loder

Kathryn Loder is a counseling graduate student at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (CACREP accredited), specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is completing her clinical training under the supervision of Heather Timmis, MA, LMFT-S.

Kathryn brings a unique perspective shaped by her professional and educational experience in the arts. She holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Visual Culture and Art History from Lund University in Sweden. She also earned an Associate of Arts in Fashion Design.

Before entering counseling, Kathryn founded The Makers Project at Star of Hope Mission in Houston. For six years, she led this community-based arts healing program serving young mothers and children. From 2021 through June 2026, Kathryn served as a Youth Group Leader. She mentored tween, middle school, and high school girls. This included summer mission trips.

Kathryn has a particular passion for helping marriages and families flourish. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families. Her interests include healthy marriages, family systems, intimacy, emotional well-being, and child development.

Kathryn welcomes clients of all beliefs and backgrounds. She strives to create a warm environment where clients feel heard, respected, and supported.

Additionally, she is actively pursuing advanced training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels 1 and 2 and Bringing Baby Home. She will complete PREPARE/ENRICH certification in Late September 2026.
