McKenzie Palmer joined NFCC in September of 2014 as a part-time Billing Specialist. McKenzie helps current and potential clients learn more about their mental health insurance benefits and other payment options. McKenzie is responsible for handling all insurance tasks, such as benefit verifications, claim submissions and claim disputes or appeals. McKenzie also assists clients with billing, fee reduction requests/sliding scale fees, and provides billing statements for out-of-network claim filing or HSA reimbursement. In addition to serving clients as a counselor, McKenzie enjoys working in this role at NFCC because she understands that financial and insurance matters can be stressful and messy at times, and strives to help clients feel at ease throughout the process so they may focus more on their own mental health needs and to help make their counseling experience a positive one!
