Neesa Velez is a Counseling Masters student with The Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine, where she is currently completing her practicum and internship requirements. Neesa graduated with her B.A. in Counseling Psychology from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. Her previous experience working and volunteering in both private practice groups and non-profit organizations. These positions have afforded her the privilege of working closely with individuals with different concerns such as depression, anxiety, life transition, trauma, and relational issues. Neesa’s approach to therapy focuses on collaboration between herself and the client. Therefore, she places high importance on building a trusting therapeutic relationship, where the client feels safe and able to express themselves authentically. She practices mostly from a client-centered approach and brings in other modalities as they are appropriate for the client’s needs. In her free time, Neesa enjoys exploring the Houston art scene, reading, and spending time with her friend and family.
