Meets on Thursdays from January 26 - March 2 from 6-7:30 p.m.
ADHD impacts more people than just the family member with the diagnosis. For that reason, we offer support groups for children with ADHD and their parents. Led by two counselors, the groups meet at the same time and date to help parents and kids learn how to work together to increase peace in the family and success at school. Cost is $120 per family. Total of 6 meetings plus a parent consultation and a child/therapist meeting. Insurance, sliding scale and payment plans are available by request.

Whether merging two families into one or changing from a single parent home to one with two parents, blended families come in all shapes and sizes. NEW BEGINNINGS offers parents support for the unique challenges blended families face. Led by a family counselor, topics covered include defining roles, building new family relationships, parenting, disciplining children, resolving conflict and working with difficult emotions and former spouses. This two-day workshop is for parents only and is held on Saturday, Sept 27 & October 4 from 9 a.m. – noon at Nick Finnegan Counseling Center (2714 Joanel). The cost is $135 per couple, and registration is required by calling 713-402-5046.
Would you prefer to have premarital counseling in a group setting rather than in a one-on-one atmosphere with just you, your partner and a counselor? If you are looking for an interactive workshop for couples thinking about or planning to get married, please let us know at . With enough interested couples, we could make that happen for you. Topics covered could include communication, problem solving, financial styles, family issues and spirituality.
